We remembered those who have died in the past year at this service

A Reception Followed the Service

The Feast of All Saints is a holy day of the Church honoring all saints, known and unknown. While we have knowledge of many saints, and we honor them on specific days, there are many unknown or unsung saints, who may have been forgotten, or never given much honor to begin with. In order to honor the memory of these unnamed saints, the Church dedicated a special feast day in order to celebrate the lives and witness of those “who have died and gone before us into the presence of the Lord.” Pope Gregory set the date as November 1st, but since November 1st rarely falls on a Sunday, we have the option of moving the feast day to the following Sunday.

The choir celebrated the Feast of All Saints’ with a Choral Evensong. We prepared a beautiful litany of prayers, responses and anthems. This was a very special day to honor all those who have “died in the Lord.”
