Welcome To The Connector’s Committee!!

We want all members of All Saints’ to feel as though they are a part of the Connector’s Committee, as it takes each one of us to make our newcomers feel welcomed and a part of our community.

How Can You Help??

Be sure to Greet our new-comers on Sunday mornings. Maybe even Invite them to share a meal following the  service. Ask how you can help them get connected to All Saints’. Help them find their way in our new facilities. There are many ways to offer a  friendly hand to our visitors and  newcomers—let’s all step up and participate in this important ministry!

Want to know who’s visiting or new to All Saints’? The Connector’s Committee has a bulletin board in the Lobby that will be updated frequently with pictures and names of those new to All Saints’!

Shepherd's Center

Opportunities for Older Adults

The Shepherd’s Center of Greater Tupelo is an interfaith organization.

It is devoted to a mission of empowering older adults to live complete

and independent lives. Monthly meetings held at various local churches offer educational opportunities for seniors.

Learning adventures include book reviews, discussion of current events, and other educational presentations. Travel opportunities to regional sites of interest are also offered. Health professionals come to address health problems and suggest solutions. In addition, Shepherd’s Center offers health screening and stress management classes.

Transportation to and from doctor’s offices and shipping centers is available for all seniors as well as minor home repairs. Telephone contact with the homebound is also offered by the Shepherd’s Center (Contact Martha Ann Staub For More Info).

Older members of All Saints’ may receive these services. Help from other members of All Saints’ is vital to continuing this program. Meetings are on the third Thursday of each month.

All Saints' Altar Guild
Your All Saints’ Altar Guild is a committed hardworking, dedicated group of 25-30 women (and 1 man) consisting of 5 teams who work a week at a time.  We spend several hours each week preparing altar flowers, polishing brass and silver, providing bread and wine, and generally attending to the details and set up of the Eucharist and the Daily Offices.  While this work is “invisible” to most, it is truly a labor of love done willingly and cheerfully.

Want to join us??

Fund

The Flower Guild!

Hard at work at All Saints’.

The primary purpose of the Flower Guild is to make sure that the open Sundays (when no one has signed up on the flower chart) have lovely arrangements displayed to the Glory of God.  Also the holy days, when the Altar Guild is responsible for the flowers, will be handled by the Flower Guild.  You can be involved in different ways. We are looking for people who like to arrange flowers.

If you are interested in any of the things that we do, please do call and tell us you want to be involved!
Please call Virginia Chambers.

If you would like to make a donation to the Altar Guild Flower Fund as a memorial or Honorarium...

Simply fill out an order form and

return it to the Church Office

or place it in the Alms Basin.

The forms may be found

on the ends of the pews.

What Exactly Is It That Vergers Do?

On Sunday you see Vergers leading processions, assisting with communion, and managing acolytes; however, there is much that Vergers do that is “behind the scenes”.

Vergers assist in the planning of services; open and close the physical plant for church and other events; schedule and train acolytes; serve at weddings and funerals; coordinate with the Altar Guild and Flower Guild; serve at Diocesan events which also includes the planning of events for Annual Council; handle special items such as incense, the thurible, and the aspergillium; attend to visiting clergy; schedule visiting clergy; train Chalice Bearers, Lectors and Intercessors; act as trouble shooters; and perform such tasks as may be required by the Rector.

As you can see, this is not merely a ceremonial role, but is a working and integral part of the management and operation of the Parish. We gladly do it for our fellow parishioners and we consider it an honor to serve you.

Your Vergers,
Nathan Duncan, David Sparks, Albert White, and Tina Lutz
