A Farewell To Shannon
Actually Several...
Shannon To
Meet With The Youth
On Saturday, April 14 at 11:00 a.m. in the
church, Shannon wants to have some
time with the youth of the parish to say goodbye,
talk about and answer any questions they might have about his leaving.
He is especially concerned that the younger children get a chance
to ask questions and say goodbye.
It will last one hour and is for children in
grades 1-12, but will leave it up to the parents what would be age
appropriate for their family.

Comes Aboard
We welcome (back) the Rev. Dr. Michael A. Lippard who,
after supporting our congregation so well during Shannon's sabbatical last
year, comes once again amongst us to fill the position of Clergy Associate -
vacant since Father Gene's retirement. He has already been inaugurated at
the Wednesday Healing Service and of course has for some time continued to
lead the Friday morning Centering Prayer Group. He has also been available
for pastoral counseling sessions.
Though he was an integral part of our Christmas Eve
Service he will not begin to be a part of our regular Sunday services until
Sunday, February 4th.
Welcome Once Again, Michael !

Update 9-20-05: Mission to the Coast
On Thursday, September 15 a team of men and women volunteers from All Saints’ left Tupelo loaded with tools, cleaning supplies, etc. and headed to Long Beach, Mississippi. Within minutes of arriving part of the team was sent to remove a tree from an elderly woman’s roof. The remaining members worked in the distribution of clothing and relief goods. The next day another roof was repaired and covered with tarps.
Saturday numerous members worked keeping the distribution store supplied – a full time job given the volume of those seeking help. Literally hundreds of people were served by the relief center Saturday. Also, an average of 300 people are being served daily by the free medical clinic associated with the Coast School Center.

COMMUNITY LIFE OUTREACH - February 2005
At the committee’s first 2005 meeting, 26 people attended, including The Rev. Susan Springer and five of her parishioners from Christ the King Lutheran Church (ELCA). The Rev. Gene Asbury presided at the first meeting, and Anne Radojcsics volunteered to serve as secretary of the committee. Albert White has been appointed and approved by the Vestry to be the chair of the Community Life Outreach Committee for 2005.
A budget totaling $17,764 was presented to the committee and initial allocations were made to the following charities:
Episcopal Relief & Development Fund $750 (South Asia tsunami relief)
Habitat for Humanity $500
Lutheran-Episcopal Services of Mississippi $450
All Saints’ Relief for the Poor $762.02 (Pastoral Discretionary Fund)
All members were asked to offer their time and talent to outreach by becoming involved with the agencies for who we have already budgeted funds as well as
new charities. We are open to any input from any of our members, and we want to know the names of members who are currently serving a local charity.
Anyone wishing to take part in outreach ministry may attend the next meeting on Thursday, February 17, at 6:00 p.m.
in the Parish Hall.

COMMUNITY LIFE OUTREACH - January 2005
In a generous response to a request from our Community Life Outreach Committee, the Diocese of Mississippi has graciously sent a gift of $5,000 for the Faith Haven Home for Abandoned and Abused Children. The gift will fund the completion of a playground for the children at Faith Haven. All Saints’ members currently serving on Faith Haven’s board of directors are Jeanne Lagrone, Polly Stroup, and Martha Ann Staub. David Sparks and Kay Trapp also have served on Faith Haven’s board in past years.

Oh yes... we "raised a little money" for the new Parish Hall - Fall 2004 |
Habitat for Humanity
The Habitat for Humanity home being
built by All Saints’ volunteers is nearing (as of Sunday June 13th)

Clint Alford, David Alford, Mary Jo Anderson, Frank Anger, Gene Asbury,
Karen Asbury, George Bobo, Pat Bobo, Kaye Cannon, Jean Cooper, Steve

Our deepest thanks to all who have given so faithfully and so generously
of their time and talent to this outreach ministry. All Saints’ members’
positive and enthusiastic attitudes continue to mark us as a “CAN DO”
parish! --Gene Asbury

Honduras Medical Mission - 2004
Quietly and without notice all last year, a special
group of ladies were part of the Honduras Medical Mission team. The 600+
“thank you” notes and “memorial/honorary-acknowledgement” notes they
wrote to donors who gave monetary and in-kind gifts were an essential
part of this Mission effort. The faithfulness of this group, who devoted
many hours to expressing the Mission’s gratitude to donors, inspires us
all to continue our commitment to such outreach efforts as the Honduras
Medical Mission. Together we can touch others’ live and make a
difference.
Mary Jo Anderson, Nancie Beard, Katie Ruth Bush, Betty Champion, Kathy
Fealhaber, Hettyola Harrell, Joellen Murphree, Doris Streit, Hazel
Walker,
and Marrion Winders.
Thank you for being “do-ers” and not “hear-ers only.”
