There are many
exciting things brewing in the world of youth ministry! This summer, the
EYC has focused mainly on the All Saints’ history project. Members of
the EYC have contributed their own knowledge of our parish, and have
also conducted interviews with long-term members in order to compile a
history that is as diverse and well-rounded as our parish family. These
interviews have been videotaped and will be edited for a DVD
presentation this fall. I know I am surely looking forward to the end
result of their hard work!
This August will
hold a plethora of exciting EYC activities. The EYC will start having
regular meetings again on Sunday, August 17. However, shortly
thereafter, on August 29-September 1, (Labor Day Weekend,) our ninth
graders will journey to Atlanta, Georgia for a long-overdue trip. In
Atlanta, we’ll be hosted by our friends at St. Philip’s Cathedral and
will be spending time at Six Flags, the CNN center, and other great
Atlanta attractions. It will be an extremely exciting trip! Finally, I
am happy to announce that with the help of our wonderful interim rector,
Mother LaRae, we have established a support group of adults for this
fall’s EYC. These committed adults will help by chaperoning all of our
EYC activities and events. Thanks to all who have agreed to serve in
this much-needed role.
