Change is everywhere at All Saints’:
AND NOW IT’S CHRISTIAN EDUCATION’S TURN
With the recent departure of Mandy Atkins as Christian Education Director,
we’ve been thinking about how best to carry forward the work of this
important ministry during this time of transition at All Saints’. One of the
main reasons for building our new facilities is to allow for the growth of
the congregation. Christian Education will be a major player in that. So, on
the verge of moving in, quality, consistency and accountability in the
Christian Education program is going to be more important than ever before.
We gave some thought to dividing the Christian Ed Director’s duties among
volunteers. But the more we considered that, the more we realized that these
duties are going to require more focus and energy than would be fair to
expect from volunteers. Of course, we also thought about conducting a search
for a new staff member to serve as Christian Ed Director. However, with all
of the change in the air, it seemed not to be the best time to bring a new
staff member aboard. After seeking Shannon’s input concerning these issues,
the Vestry decided upon a third alternative and a great idea: combining the
duties of Christian Ed Director and Program Administrator into a single
position.
We are very happy to announce that Tommie Moore has agreed to accept the
duties of Christian Ed Director in her role as Program Administrator and to
become a full-time employee of the parish. Having previously served as
Christian Ed Director for over three years, Tommie is quite familiar with
the responsibilities, and we all know about her wonderful capabilities and
professionalism. She is very energized in expanding her role as Program
Administrator in this way, and the transition for the parish will be
seamless.
This is the latest of several key developments regarding the staff —
bringing Michael on board as our new Priest Associate, moving Debra Atkinson
from her position as Organist to Director of Music/Choir Director, hiring
Ben Orr as our Organist, and hiring Ann Marie Schott as Youth Director.
These are extremely strong and fortunate happenings for the parish. Coupled
with the outstanding performance and commitment of our other staff members,
Secretary DeLane Patrick, Sexton William Kitchens, and Bookkeeper Beverly
Williams, they make an exceptional team. Our staff is in great shape as good
things continue to happen for All Saints’.

This is a very exciting time for All Saints’ and it is truly a privilege to
be part of such a dynamic time in our parish life. Great things are
happening in our Christian Education programs and I look forward to my
expanded role on staff and working with the faithful and committed
volunteers within the various programs.
Faithfully,
Tommie
